APAW – Poodle Pups for Working Roles

Genesis was our male keeper from Denali’s first litter, and he has continued on to become a service dog for his partner. He is a sweet, lower-drive dog who loves to work and likes to be glued to his person’s side (or in their lap). He’s also very good at melting into a flat Poodle puddle in any environment. Genesis was raised and trained by Jillian through his first 3 years, his conformation, rally, trick and temperament titles and the start of his service dog training; he then moved to Denali’s breeder and her relative for whom he finished his service training to assist.

Genesis has very low genetic diversity (his OI is only .16 though he does have less common haplotypes and is nicely outbred at IR -.06), but is such a nice dog overall that we didn’t consider that as a reason not to breed him, and a couple of other breeders have bred to him as well. Overall he’s had good health (7 years old).
